ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies recognizes the value our natural resources provide to our community and to the state of Michigan. The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies is dedicated to an Environmental Management System (EMS) that establishes effective communication, objectives and goals, internal assessments, and fosters environmental leadership.

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies will promote environmental stewardship adopting the following C3 principles:

Commitment

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies will communicate to the campus community our commitment to voluntary pollution prevention methods, waste minimization practices and effective use of natural resources.

Compliance

Environmental compliance will be sustained using the resources available on campus and partnering with government agencies.

Continuous Improvement

The Environmental Management System will be reviewed periodically to ensure suitability, adequacy, planning, effectiveness and program review in meeting performance standards.

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies shall be responsible for administrating and monitoring this policy.
